Lo spazio Orea Malià ospita, in occasione di Arte Fiera 2023, l’artista Francesca Pasquali con la mostra APPEAL, inserita nel calendario eventi dell’Art White Night della prossima edizione del 2023.
La mostra, prevalentemente distribuita all’interno degli iconici spazi bolognesi di Orea Malià, si espande in tutto l’ambiente e oltre, con una installazione site-specific che contamina anche gli spazi architettonici esterni, dove la materia plastica colorata degli Spiderballs diventerà una presenza cromatica in dialogo con la città.
Sin dal titolo, APPEAL, la mostra rimanda alla “Fascinazione” nei confronti delle forme, della materia, della creazione, ma ha anche il significato di “Appello, Chiamata” allo sguardo ed al coinvolgimento dello spettatore, che sarà attratto da diverse opere inserite nell’ambiente, tessute e assemblate con setosi elementi compositivi di natura plastica e industriale, Setole, frutto di una ricerca saldamente confermata nella direzione di un rapporto avvincente tra organico e inorganico, natura e cultura, recupero di materiali e ridefinizione estetica.
In occasione dell’inaugurazione sarà inoltre presentato al pubblico il recente progetto nato all’FPA Archive, studio dell’artista, durante il lockdown: FraP Art-à-porter, una ricerca che sonda le infinite possibilità della plastica, dove gli scarti di materiali industriali accumulati con cura nel tempo e porzioni avanzate di oggetti del quotidiano che l’artista utilizza di consueto nelle sue opere (cannucce, spazzole, feltri gommati), sono impiegati per realizzare tracce cromatiche indelebili su abiti vintage e second hand sapientemente selezionati dall’artista.

The Orea Malià space hosts, on the occasion of Arte Fiera 2023, Francesca Pasquali with the exhibition APPEAL, part of the Art White Night event calendar of the upcoming 2023 edition.
The exhibition, mainly distributed within the iconic Bolognese spaces of Orea Malià, expands throughout the environment and beyond with a site-specific installation that also contaminates the outdoor architectural spaces, where the colored plastic matter of Spiderballs will become a chromatic presence in dialogue with the city.
Since its title, APPEAL, the exhibition refers to the “Fascination” towards forms, matter, creation, but it also has the meaning of “Appeal, Call” to the gaze and involvement of the viewer, who will be attracted by different works inserted in the environment, woven and assembled from dozens of silky compositional elements of plastic and industrial nature, Setole, the result of a research firmly confirmed in the direction of a compelling relationship between organic and inorganic, nature and culture, recovery of materials and aesthetic redefinition.
Also presented to the public at the opening will be the recent project born at the FPA Archive, the artist’s studio, during the lockdown: FraP Art-à-porter, a research that probes the infinite possibilities of plastic, where the scraps of industrial materials carefully accumulated over time and leftover portions of everyday objects that the artist routinely uses in his works (straws, brushes, rubberized felts), are employed to make indelible chromatic traces on vintage and second-hand clothes expertly selected by the artist.
